A council spokesman said: "Huge thanks to everyone who kindly gave some of their time to help clean our wonderful coastline last week.
"Dozens of children and adults got involved with our beach clean on Friday afternoon, which saw 11.5kg of litter collected from the areas of the beach either side of Worthing Pier."
The council is hosting the next beach clean on July 25.
Litter-picking equipment and bags can be picked up from the Coastal Office on the seafront.
People can then go off on their own to litter pick either side of the beach and return the equipment at the end of the session.
