A 15-year-old girl was nearly robbed at knife point after being approached in a town centre road.
The teenager was approached by a man with the weapon late on Thursday, July 18. He demanded that she hand over her possessions.
The man fled empty handed after a passerby stepped in to save the young girl.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Sussex Police say the girl was walking along Seaside Road in Eastbourne near the junction with Southbourne Road when she was approached by the would-be robber at around 9pm.
Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man who they believe is linked to the incident.
A spokesman for the force said: "Anybody who recognises him, or who may have captured any relevant CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage from the area, is asked to get in touch.
"Information can be passed to police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1411 of 18/07."
