More than 80 trees have been planted as part of a community scheme.
Adur and Worthing councils launched a community-sponsored tree scheme last year in partnership with Trees for Streets, a national tree-sponsorship scheme and charity.
Since applications for sponsorships opened last summer, 81 trees have been planted across Worthing. 36 were planted by individual residents while 35 were planted in Sompting Road and Sompting Avenue following a £20,000 donation from developer Roffey Homes.
In Westbourne Avenue and Harrow Road, homeowners joined forces and planted nine trees through a crowdfunding campaign.

Applications are open to sponsor a tree for the scheme’s second year until December 3.
“Instant impact” trees will be planted standing at three to four metres high for successful applications.
Councillor Vicki Wells, Worthing's cabinet member for environmental services, said: “Our scheme with Trees for Streets has been a fantastic success in its first year.
“Residents wanted more trees across the town and this brilliant scheme has enabled everyone to easily contribute to greening their immediate urban environments and help restore Worthing's historically tree-lined streets.”
