A MISSING man was found dead at a seaside cliff.

An inquest has been opened into the death of Darren Michael Wakelin, from Warrington.

The 63-year-old’s body was discovered on August 11 at Beachy Head near Eastbourne by Sussex Police officers.

This came after Mr Wakelin was reported missing by his family.

At Warrington Coroner's Court on Wednesday, senior coroner for Cheshire Jacqueline Devonish formally opened an inquest due to Mr Wakelin’s ‘unnatural cause of death’.

A case review will take place on October 27 ahead of the full inquest on February 11, 2025.
