A bingo hall is being plagued by antisocial behaviour.
Sussex Police have received reports of drug use and “inappropriate behaviour” outside Buzz Bingo in Rowlands Road, Worthing.
A force spokesman said: “We attended a report of drug use and inappropriate behaviour at the address on September 5.
“Following a search of the area, we were unable to locate any suspects in relation to the incident and have made contact with the business.
“Officers will continue to monitor the situation.
“If you have any information or are impacted by any antisocial behaviour, report to police online or call 101.
“Always dial 999 in an emergency.”
Plans are in the works to redevelop the bingo hall site.
Cayuga Developments wants to knock down the building and replace it with 47 flats, six houses and commercial space.
Cayuga’s director Matt Hoad said the building is in a “poor condition” and said retaining it would be “too difficult”.
He said the company is in discussions with its tenant Buzz Bingo, which is under a lease until 2039, about the plans moving forward.
Proposals are currently being prepared and Cayuga held a public exhibition in July to hear residents’ thoughts about the scheme before an application is submitted.
A spokesman from Buzz Bingo said: “We're aware of recent incidents near our venue in Worthing and are helping the police with their inquiries. We're open for business and have made improvements to our club to ensure it remains a welcoming and safe space for everyone to get together and play bingo in our community.”
