Brighton and Hove's five most expensive streets revealed

The streets in Brighton and Hove with the highest average property prices in 2024 have been revealed.

Based on HM Land Registry Open Data, West Street tops the list with an average property price of £8,500,000.

Western Esplanade follows at £2,900,000, Dyke Close at £2,500,000, Imperial Arcade at £2,300,000, and Second Avenue at £2,207,500.

However, most of these streets only saw one transaction during 2024. When considering streets with at least two property sales, the top five changes.

Second Avenue remains on the list with two sales at an average price of £2,207,500.

Princes Square follows with £1,987,500 from two sales, Bristol Road with £1,962,900 also from two sales, Tongdean Road with £1,946,429 from seven sales, and Hill Brow with £1,775,000 from two sales.

According to the Office for National Statistics, the average house price in Brighton and Hove was £433,000 in November 2024.

Private rents rose to an average of £1,778 in December 2024, a five per cent annual increase from £1,693 in December 2023.

For each property type, average prices as of November 2024 in Brighton and Hove were: detached properties at £807,000, semi-detached at £535,000, terraced at £482,000, and flats and maisonettes at £341,000.

Average rents as of December 2024 in Brighton and Hove were £1,155 for one-bedroom properties, £1,484 for two bedrooms, £1,760 for three bedrooms, and £2,466 for four or more bedrooms.
