A woman said her birthday and holiday was ruined after her car was damaged by a fire at Butlins.
Jade-Louise Legge was celebrating her 31st birthday at Butlins, in Bognor Regis, where a drum and bass event run by Hospitality Weekender was taking place.
However, on the evening of her birthday, on February 2, Jade said the break was “ruined” by a fire which broke out in the bin store, close to where Jade’s car was parked.
Jade, from Abertillery, Wales, said: “None of the staff told anyone. We only found out through a group chat we were in.
“I said to my friend we need to go and have a look because that’s where my car is.

“They told me nothing was wrong with my car.”
She added: “The bumper is all wrinkly and the number plate is burnt.
“It does not feel the same as it did.
“They’re telling me to claim through my insurance.

“My car is my passion. I have spent so much money on it, getting it right.
“It was my birthday the day it happened so it ruined my holiday.”
Jade reported that other cars were also damaged by the fire, with some completely “gutted”.
She said that following communications with Butlins, she has been told she has to go through her insurance and has been offered money off her next trip.
“I won’t be going back to stay again - that’s for sure”, Jade said.
“Accidents happen but it’s their attitude. They pushed us on our way.”

“We’ve been in direct contact with the guest to explain the process should she wish to make a claim.”
The Argus understands Butlins attempted to call Ms Legge the day after the fire before responding to concerns via email.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue service attended the fire on February 2 at around 8pm. The hotel was evacuated during the incident but the event was not.
A spokesman for Butlins confirmed all guests were ok and allowed back into the hotel once the incident was dealt with by emergency services.
A Butlin’s spokesman said: “We can confirm there was an isolated fire in a bin outside the Shoreline Hotel. Fire services were quickly on the scene and extinguished the fire.
"All guests are fine and once checks were complete, we allowed them back into the hotel.”
The three-day drum and bass event featured artists such as Danny Byrd, Bladerunner, Techinmatic and Tim Reaper.
