The demolition of The Body Shop headquarters in Sussex has begun.

The Body Shop announced in October 2024 that it was moving its headquarters from Littlehampton to the Plus X Innovation Hub near the University of Brighton.

The news came after the business was saved from administration in September 2024.

In February, plans were submitted to Arun District Council by Hallway Properties to demolish and replace the building.

Following the news that the offices were moving to the city, Hove and Portslade MP Peter Kyle said: "I’m thrilled The Body Shop has chosen Brighton as the new location for its head office.

Mr Kyle started his career working at The Body Shop and was mentored by its founder Dame Anita Roddick.

The Body Shop has deep roots in Brighton and Sussex but has expanded globally in the near half-century since its first store opened in Kensington Gardens.
