A stolen tortoise has been reunited with her owner after a quick trip up north.
The 35-year-old animal, which had been reported missing in July, was discovered by a lorry driver in Horsham who cared for her all the way to Yorkshire.
She was eventually reunited with her owner in Hassocks with the help of social media.
Mid Sussex Police said: “Her owner is overjoyed, truly appreciative to all that participated in getting her safely back to her family home.
“Stories like this remind us how powerful collective kindness can be.”
