Jet2 is set to launch flights from Gatwick Airport next year, as what is one of the UK's largest airlines finally expands to Sussex.
In what is a major milestone for Gatwick, Jet2 will launch operations with six aircraft in March 2026.
Jet2 will now have flights out of 14 UK airport bases, with the spot at Gatwick the largest new-based airline at the airport this century.
The launch will also create more than 300 local jobs, including pilots, engineers and cabin crew.

Jet2 will offer flights to 29 "sunshine destinations" from March, with the first taking off for Tenerife on March 26.
Other destinations include Spain, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Malta, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

- Alicante – five weekly services (Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
- Girona – two weekly services (Thursday and Sunday)
- Malaga – four weekly services (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday)
- Reus – three weekly services (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
- Faro – 10 weekly services (Monday, 2 x Tuesday, Wednesday, 2x Thursday, Friday, 2 x Saturday and Sunday)

Gatwick launch is a 'major milestone' for Jet2
