A leisure centre has remained closed for a second day running due to a technical issue.

Littlehampton Wave leisure centre closed to the public on Wednesday, January 14, due to a technical issue affecting the safety of the venue.

The centre has remained shut as of Thursday morning (January 15) with all morning exercise classes and swimming lessons cancelled.

In a statement on its website on Thursday morning, the centre said: "Unfortunately, due to a technical issue affecting the safety of the leisure centre, we are still unable to open the facility at this moment in time.

"We are working closely with our contractors to rectify this issue as quickly as possible and will update you again once we can safely open the building to the public.

"We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience to your normal routines, and thank you for your patience while we resolve the issue."

The centre added that Arun Leisure Centre remained open as normal and members could use it as an alternative to workout in the gym and swim.
