New images have revealed the extent of coastal erosion at a Sussex Beach.
Drone imagery from Climping Beach, between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, shows properties mere metres away from the sea, as the area continues to experience the effects of an eroding landscape.
The Environment Agency (EA) announced earlier this month that it was undertaking work to move shingle on the beach, in order to better protect seafront properties.
Defences at the beach were damaged in January by Storm Goretti, although the area has already been subject to extensive erosion in previous years.
Residents raised fears that their homes would be flooded as early as 2020, with the leader of Arun District Council at the time suggesting the issue was "a disaster waiting to happen".

The EA confirmed in 2024 that it would continue to maintain the beach for as long as possible, however it warned that this could eventually become financially unviable.
The beach is not the only area in Sussex to be grappling with the effects of erosion.
Last year, a £1 million project to distribute 30,000 tonnes of shingle at Pevensey Bay got underway, as part of an effort to protect 3,000 properties.
