Foodies Festival returned to Brighton this bank holiday weekend and brought the sunshine with it.
Food lovers clutching burritos, ice creams and cocktails in a range of receptacles, including pineapples and coconuts, milled about the dozens of food, drink and shopping stalls in Preston Park on Sunday.
Meanwhile hundreds of people were sprawled out in front of the main stage enjoying the sunshine with a picnic while listening to performers.
The weekend has already seen a host of musical acts. On Saturday Scouting for Girls headlined, on Sunday B*witched and rounding off the three-day weekend will be Boyzlife today.
Across the weekend, visitors have enjoyed an array of live cooking demonstrations in the Chefs Theatre and Baking Theatre, with appearances from stars of MasterChef, The Great British Bake Off and Great British Menu, alongside acclaimed chefs from the local area.
Ewan Waller, head chef at Maré by Rafael Cagali, who has just awarded been the first Michelin-starred restaurant in Brighton and Hove for nearly 50 years, was among the names at the festival.
There have also been tastings and masterclasses with industry experts in the drinks theatre.
Hungry visitors were spoiled for choice with food stall options offerings steak, bagels, chocolate covered strawberries, chicken, burgers, pizza, cakes and plenty of bars. The frozen cocktail vendors were proving very popular.
There were also non-food related activities including axe throwing and fairground rides.
This year families have been able to enjoy an expanded programme of kids’ entertainment, including scavenger hunts, games and interactive challenges, while four-legged friends are welcome at the new dog’s zone. Children could also get in on the cooking action in the kids cookery school.
Foodies Festival is supporting national homelessness charity Crisis, alongside a range of local charities in Brighton.
