A local café will throw a charity event to support street children in Bangladesh's capital.

The event is being organised by local trustees of the Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM UK), a UK-based charity supporting projects in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

DAM UK aims to provide Street Children Project Services such as shelter, food, education and vocational training, focusing on improving the prospects of children living and working on Dhaka's streets.

The fundraising event and meal is set for Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Tuntuns Café and Restaurant on Lewes Road, Brighton from 4pm to 8pm.

Attendees will enjoy traditional, home-cooked Bangladeshi food, accompanied by live Bangladeshi music.

Tickets for the event are priced at £25 per person, with the full amount donated to the Street Children Project Services in Dhaka.

Two of the owners of Tuntuns Café, who are trustees of DAM UK, are organising the event.

The Foresters charity will match every pound raised at the event and cover the cost of food.

All ticket proceeds will go straight to the Street Children projects in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the café or by emailing Dave Sternberg at dave_sternberg@yahoo.co.u
