A hunt is on to find the area’s next pub hero.

Alison Griffiths MP is inviting nominations from residents across Bognor Regis, Littlehampton and the surrounding villages for the 2026 Community Pub Hero Awards, which celebrate pubs making a difference in their communities.

The scheme recognises pubs that support charities, tackle social isolation and offer a welcoming space for all.

Ms Griffiths said: "Too often, we think of pubs simply as places to eat and drink. In reality, they are often at the heart of our communities.

"They host local groups, support charities and sports teams, provide a place for neighbours to meet and help combat loneliness and isolation, especially for our older neighbours."

Instead of making the nomination herself, Ms Griffiths is encouraging the public to put forward their favourite pubs and explain what makes them special.

Nominations can be submitted through her website or by commenting on her Facebook page, including the name and location of the pub and why it deserves recognition.

Nominations close on Friday, June 19.

A shortlist will then be announced, followed by a public vote.

The winning pub will be revealed in early July and will go on to represent the area at the national awards.
