Appeal after woman seriously injured by tyre in Eastergate

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information after a woman was seriously injured by falling debris from a vehicle. 

The collision took place on June 5 at around 1.30pm on Barnham Road, Eastergate, north of Bognor Regis.

It was reported that a 38-year-old woman was walking eastbound on the pavement when she was struck by a tyre, believed to have fallen from a vehicle travelling in the road.

The woman suffered a serious injury to her leg and attended hospital for treatment.

Officers are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry in an ongoing investigation and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant information such as CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage, is encouraged to report it to police.
