A housebuilder has pledged more than £1.7 million to support the surrounding community.
Bellway is investing in Bexhill-on-Sea as part of its Highwoods View housing scheme, located off Turkey Road, where construction began last year and the first showhome opened to visitors last month.
So far, more than £592,000 has been paid towards infrastructure improvements, including £97,900 for better bus services.
Fiona Mitchell, sales manager for Bellway Southern Counties, said: "Work is progressing at pace at Highwoods View, with the showhome and sales centre now open on site.
"We have also made the first financial contributions to the local community as part of the development, with the first Community Infrastructure Levy instalment of £484,818 now paid and additional contributions made towards bus services, traffic regulations and monitoring costs.
"We are also carrying out works to improve nearby footpaths and will be installing a new bus stop on Turkey Road.
"In September we will begin work on the new public open space within the development, which will include a children’s play area."
Highwoods View will provide 89 new homes, including 58 for private sale.

Ms Mitchell said: "We saw a great deal of interest in the development over the opening weekend.
"Visitors were particularly keen to find out more about the energy-efficient features the of properties we are building here, which include solar PV panels, smart thermostats and electric vehicle charging points.
"We’re looking forward to welcoming the first residents into their new homes in Autumn and expect to complete construction work at the development by the summer of next year."
