A primary school has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds.
Cradle Hill School in Seaford hopes to repair its all-weather astro pitch – a key facility for sports and outdoor activities used by pupils year-round.
The surface enables PE lessons and outdoor play to take place regardless of weather conditions, but has become worn and in need of refurbishment to remain safe and usable.
Headteacher Mrs. Keith said: "Our astro pitch is one of the most important facilities we have.
"It supports our pupils' physical education, wellbeing and sporting development every day, while also serving as a valuable community asset outside school hours.
"The income generated through external use helps us invest back into the school and create opportunities for our children.
"We are asking our community to come together and help us protect this facility for years to come."
Due to the high cost of repairs, the school is appealing to parents, residents, businesses and the wider community for support through a crowdfunding campaign.

The pitch is also regularly used by sports clubs and community groups outside school hours, generating income that helps the school maintain equipment and facilities.
This income is vital for the school, and without the repairs, both the pitch and the revenue it generates could be at risk.
The school is urging all supporters—whether individuals, organisations, or businesses—to contribute and share the campaign as widely as possible.
Donations of any size will go directly towards the refurbishment of the astro pitch, ensuring that pupils and community users continue to have access to a safe, high-quality facility.

A spokesperson for Cradle Hill said: "Every donation, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference.
"Contributions will go directly towards the repair and refurbishment of the astro, helping ensure that pupils, local sports clubs and community users can continue to benefit from a safe, high-quality all-weather playing surface.
"Together we care, Together we achieve is our school motto and by working together we can ensure that the Cradle Hill School astro remains a place where children can learn, play, compete and thrive all year round."
