A local authority has earned an accreditation for its work to prevent violence against women and girls.
Horsham District Council has achieved White Ribbon Accreditation, recognising its commitment to tackling harassment, abuse and violence towards women and girls through workplace culture and community influence.
Councillor Belinda Walters, cabinet member for housing and communities, said: "I am delighted that the Council has received this recognition.
"White Ribbon Accreditation shows our staff have learned what they need to know to make our workplace even safer and friendlier for everyone.
"This is more than a mark of achievement.
"It is a commitment to working together to create a safer, more respectful environment for women and girls across our District."
White Ribbon UK is the leading charity engaging men and boys to prevent violence against women and girls.
The council has pledged to deliver a multi-year plan to improve workplace systems and processes while raising awareness in the wider community.
A White Ribbon UK spokesperson said: "White Ribbon Accredited Organisations can make a real difference in helping to end violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among staff and throughout their communities."
