A charity champion has been honoured as one of SPAR’s Everyday Champions.
Nicola Allen, from East Sussex, was recognised at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham this week for her "extraordinary contribution" to communities across Eastbourne and East Sussex.
The 62-year-old has raised more than £20,000 for good causes through years of volunteering, fundraising and organising charity events and support schemes.
Miss Allen said: "I love helping people – it’s just part of who I am.
"Every charity I support means something to me, and I’m proud to give back to the community I care about.
"Being recognised by SPAR and meeting Colin was truly special."

Her volunteering includes supporting elderly residents during the pandemic, raising funds for digital access for women, improving wheelchair accessibility in community spaces and organising public events for local charities.
Miss Allen also completed a skydive on her 60th birthday, raising £1,500 for a bereavement charity.
Colin Jackson CBE praised Miss Allen’s commitment.
Mr Jackson said: "Nicola’s energy, generosity and determination are remarkable.
"She has transformed lives across East Sussex through her fundraising and community work.
"She is a shining example of what an Everyday Champion looks like and I’m delighted SPAR has honoured her."
