A seafront team has urged the public to keep safe near the sea over the weekend.
Despite months of warm weather, rain and strong winds are expected to batter the South East on Saturday, August 29.
With thousands of people expected to visit the coast over the bank holiday weekend, the public have been reminded of the dangers of the sea.
Brighton and Hove City Council seafront team has issued a warning urging the public to take "extra care" when along the seafront this weekend.
In a post on social media, it said: "With unsettled weather and rough sea conditions expected over the bank holiday weekend, we're asking everyone to take extra care along Brighton and Hove's seafront."
It issued a range of advice including staying back from the shoreline, keeping children close and dogs on leads near the water's edge.
It also urged the public to be aware of tide times, avoid standing on groynes and to take extra care when taking photographs near the water.
It added: "Please enjoy the seafront safely and look out for one another this bank holiday weekend.
"If you see someone in difficulty in the water call 999 and ask for the coastguard."

The warning comes after multiple deaths in the water this year.
Earlier this month, four members of the same family died after getting into difficulty in the water near Shoreham.
An 18-year-old man also died after being pulled from the water at Camber Sands on August 10.
In May, the body of three women were recovered from the sea in Brighton.
The women were identified as three sisters from the Uxbridge area of London: Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32 and Rebecca Walters, 31.
