Mark joined Haywards Heath Town FC in the summer of 2008. During his career Mark played for Millwall, Sheffield United, Southend United, CF San Pedro(Spain), Stevenage Borough and AFC Wimbledon. Notably winning the FA Trophy, in the very first competitive match at the new Wembley, with Stevenage Borough in 2007 and promotion to the Conference (South) with AFC Wimbledon in May 2008.

Although a key member of the first team, at 33 Mark now sees his career moving towards coaching and eventually management. At HHTFC, Mark along with new chairman Mark Russ has initiated an ambitious plan on the field, to achieve three promotions in five years.

Off the field the plans are equally ambitious and a professional football academy is being created, starting this season with U9s, U10s and U11s. Exceptionally talented young footballers are being recruited and being nurtured and trained, with the expectation that some will go on to become professional. Unlike many academies the boys will be encouraged to play for their clubs at weekends. Top level coaches will not only train the boys in football, but also overall fitness and healthy eating and will also include class-room based lessons. The emphasis will be on the continental small-sided skills based one-touch football, rather than the traditional British eleven-a-side football, which only encourages a long-ball game at this age. Each year a new U9 team will be recruited, until there are teams at the club all the way through from U9 to seniors.

As well as coaching at Great Walstead School, Mark also runs Premier Events Sports Management. PESM organises football training camps and tournaments in Marbella, Spain capitalising on his contacts he made there during his time with CF San Pedro.
