High winds tore the metal roof from a block of flats.
Gales of up to 70mph caused the metal sheeting on flats in Claremont Quays, Seaford, to come loose at about 10.30am.
Police closed the road off for safety and scaffolders worked into the night the repair the roof.
There were no injuries.
