A teacher has criticised an exam board for choosing a Kanye West song containing a racist word for a GCSE syllabus.
Dr Stuart Newton, a former headteacher and part-time teacher from Brighton, pointed out the 2005 rap hit Gold Digger also says some women are only after the cash of rich men.
The lyrics include the lines: "Now I ain't sayin she a gold digger (When I'm in need). But she ain t messin wit no broke n*****s (she steal me money).
Dr Newton slammed the Assessment and Qualification Alliance, the examiners behind the decision on the 2010 GCSE music syllabus.
He said: "Many of us have worked hard, over many years, to combat racism.
"Many of us have worked hard to discourage the idea that promiscuity is the new cool.
"I do not imagine the overwhelming majority of parents, black, white or Asian, would appreciate such a lyric being part of a list recommended by an examination board."
