I enjoyed Adam Trimingham’s article on preserving the natural beauty of the South Downs with the protection offered by national park status. (The Argus, December 3)
I recently had the pleasure of leading a health walk from Hollingdean to Hollingbury Hill Fort. Many areas of outstanding beauty are only a short bus ride away or within walking distance.
If we are to enjoy our free downland heritage and prevent erosion by overdevelopment we must support the South Downs Campaign in promoting conservation and recreation for the benefit of all, now and in the years to come.
