I read the article headlined “Junction now a ‘death trap’” (The Argus, December 3) relating to the new road layout at Patcham and couldn’t agree more.
I use this route almost every day as the alternate route through Patcham village can get very congested – also due to the new layout.
It now means you come round the roundabout and immediately meet the oncoming traffic to your left that is travelling at speed, and the exit for Vale Avenue is immediately after.
I can only imagine that whoever designed this layout has never taken this route or does not drive.
The real problem with congestion on this road is at the bottom because the roundabout does not have the box junctions marked with crisscross yellow lines.
This would stop people sitting there stationary and allow the traffic to flow more freely.
