Maurice Smith wrote about the horrors of successive Brighton councils in terms of development, cleanliness, etc (Letters, December 10). Now maybe everyone will finally understand why Hove wants to break away from the union and regain its independence as a borough council.
Hove residents look at Brighton (and the council) with fear, bitterness and disdain.
What’s good (or rather bad) for Brighton is not good for Hove.
Hove needs to look after its own affairs, its own planning, its own environment and the future of the town.
We gave the marriage a go, now it’s time to call it day.
Hove Borough Council – we await your resurrection with much anticipation.
