A seven-year-old girl hanged herself with her pink dressing gown cord after watching the children's film Bratz.
Siana Hannon, of Mendip Gardens, Hastings, was found by her mother, Tracy Hannon, on March 2, last year at the family home.
An inquest into her death heard the youngster, described as a "little princess" by her family, had been playing happily with her three brothers prior to her death.
East Sussex coroner Alan Craze recorded a verdict of misadventure.
