MUCH has been made in the media of the moral decline of the populous and the rise of antisocial behaviour throughout society in general.

My own view is that the main cause is the financial enrichment and thus empowerment, of the so-called “underclass” in this country.

Many working class persons, who previously might have endeavoured to earn a living by the usual means of manual labour or repetitive factory employment, now find that they can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle with freedom of action by way of the nation’s generous benefit allowances.

This situation is, of course, a disgrace and should be reversed ASAP by the Government of the day.

I have recently returned from a three-week Caribbean cruise and was astonished to learn that a significant number of the passengers were enjoying themselves at the expense of the taxpayer by way of the much abused benefits system.

To add insult to injury, not a dinner jacket was to be seen among the lot of them – clearly they had no idea of the correct form on such occasions.

I am sure most decent people would agree wholeheartedly with my thoughts on this one.
