THE letters regarding noisy pub music (The Argus, March 16) reminded me of the time when I managed a popular Brighton nightclub.

Speaking to a customer one evening, I could not hear a word he said due to the music blaring out and I shouted at him that I would go over and do something about the music. His reply was: “Yes, it is a bit quiet, isn't it?”

On another occasion, a DJ from another large Brighton nightclub asked me if I could give him a DJ job in our quieter club as he had lost one third of his hearing in the one he worked in and had to leave.

Likewise, I calculate my hearing also is one third down.
