On my way through Kemp Town this morning I was amazed to see a refuse lorry stop outside a certain off-licence and pick up all their cardboard.
When this lorry overtook me further down the road it wasn’t the recycling lorry come to collect from that street, as it went past all the recycling boxes.
Perhaps the council run a separate recycling scheme for business which merits a separate lorry driving around Brighton hunting down cardboard and pouring out fumes, but somehow I think not.
Why do I bother recycling? The amount of card I save each week compared with the amount that was being carried away from that store is meaningless and my efforts seem to be completely futile.
Does the council not recycle any waste from Brighton’s stores? If not then I might as well give up.
