Gatwick Airport had to close today after an incoming aircraft was reported to have a suspicious device on board.
Sussex Police were called at about 6.45am after a passenger found a note implying that a device was on board an Emirates flight from Dubai.
Firefighters from Crawley and Horley were put on standby and the airport was temporarily closed as a precaution but the plane landed safely.
Its passengers and crew were evacuated and an explosive ordnance disposal team searched the aircraft.
The airport re-opened after 15 minutes with no major disruptions.
