A fire which destroyed a car and a garage is being treated as suspicious.
The blaze, at a cottage in Cherry Lane, Bolney, started at about 9.15pm yesterday.
Six fire engines were sent to tackle the flames.
Firefighters feared the fire could have spread to the cottage but managed to douse the flames in time.
Fire investigation officers and police are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Sgt Phil Savage said: “Officers have been at the address all night and the fire is being treated as suspicious.
“It is not clear whether it was arson accidental. We are keeping an open mind.”
