On collecting my newspaper this morning in Carden Avenue, I noticed the latest project Brighton and Hove City Council have decided to waste money on. Every step has a vivid yellow stripe painted on the edge.
I know steps can be cat-egorised a trip hazard but these steps have been there for more than 50 years. No one else has felt the need to paint them. I can anticipate the reply: “It’s health and safety.”
I just hope they either run out of paint or money before their eyes alight on the kerb stones and somebody says: “Someone could trip over that. Get the paint out, lads.”
