LANCASHIRE WIN BY EIGHT WICKETS

Sussex are soundly beaten as Ashwell Prince hits a four to seal victory. Prince finished unbeaten on 91 and Francois Du Plessis on 58 to wrap up the win before tea. The pair put on 148 together and rarely offered a chance.

Lancashire 132-2 (36.1) Du Plessis brings up his 50 now with a boundary off Nash.

Lancashire 120-2 (34.2) Prince and Du Plessis bring up the century partnership and are starting to enjoy themselves now. Prince has 68 and Du Plessis 43 with just 38 more required. Chris Nash is on but no sign of Ragheb Aga who has bowled only seven overs in the entire match.

b>Lancashire 93-2 (30.2) Ashwell Prince has extinguished any hopes of a Sussex victory as he moves past his half century. The South African has made batting look easy after a slow start and has now put on 85 with Francois Du Plessis who is unbeaten on 32. Should be over by tea now.

Lancashire 64-2 (24.3) It's starting to look like a lost cause for Sussex with Lancashire making steady progress after lunch. Prince and Du Plessis have taken their partnership past the half-century and unless one, or preferably both, of them goes soon then it could all be over before tea. Prince is looking ominous on 34 and Du Plessis has 20. Martin-Jenkins and Smith are bowling.

Lancashire 51-2 (20.2) The game could be slipping away from Sussex as Lancashire bring up the half century with no further losses after lunch. Ashwell Prince has moved on to 25 and looks comfortable while Francois Du Plessis is 16. Robin Martin-Jenkins has replaced Collymore at the Sea End while Luke Wright is proving expensive from the north end.

LUNCH: Lancashire 28-2 (15) Lancashire will be more than happy with their morning's work despite losing two cheap wickets as they chase a total of 158 for victory. Jimmy Anderson and Gary Keedy claimed the remaining five Sussex second innings wickets for just 19 runs but Paul Horton and Tom Smith then fell in quick succession to Corey Collymore on what is still a very difficult pitch to score on. Ashwell Prince and Francois Du Plessis have steadied the ship since but have only managed to push the score on to 28-2 and whatever happens this game looks like lasting until after tea. Get down here, you could witness some drama still.

WICKET: Lancashire 12-2 (10.3) Collymore strikes again and things are starting to look a bit more interesting. Tom Smith fails to get on top of a cut and picks out Chris Nash at point. Another wicket before lunch and perhaps this won't be the walk in the park for Lancashire we were expecting.

WICKET: Lancashire 7-1 (4.2) Corey Collymore makes an early breakthrough for Sussex. Horton goes for just four as he picks out Murray Goodwin at point. Could this be game on?

ALL OUT: Sussex 167 (61.4) Damien Wright becomes Keedy's fifth victim of the second innnings as he is caught by Chilton for 1. Sussex lost their last five wickets this morning for just 19 runs in only 48 minutes. Lancashire need just 158 to win and Sussex will need quick wickets if they are to make a fist of this.

WICKET: Sussex 166-9 (61) Keedy gets in on the act now as he has Ragheb Aga caught close in by Chilton for just two. This game could be over before tea at this rate with Sussex's lead only 176. They have only added 18 to their overnight score for the loss of four wickets.

WICKET: Sussex 163-8 (60) Disastrous start to the final day for Sussex as they lose three wickets in quick succession - all to Jimmy Anderson. Luke Wright is caught behind without adding to his overnight score of 35 and Tom Smith falls in similar fashion after adding only one. Robin Martin-Jenkins is Anderson's third wicket, again caught behind by Luke Sutton. The England bowler now has 11 wickets for the match.
