Hello! This is my first blog, not just for the fringe, but generally. I think it's best to start with some introductions – I'm assistant producer at Fletch at St Andrew's which is a stunning brand new venue for the Brighton Fringe this year. The church itself is 180 years old, and is absolutely beautiful inside. Fletch Productions is the company that bought you Le Scandal last year and is managed by Fiona Fletcher.

Not being from Brighton myself, I popped down a few months ago to check out the church and was amazed at the potential of it. However, I've been working in London in the lead up to the fringe and wasn't quite prepared for the transformation to the venue when I arrived yesterday. The black and red curtains, the lights, the Fletch Productions logo projected across the front all looks amazing and makes for a really exciting place to be!

Our launch night went very well, with the Mayor being entertained by members of the Insect Circus outside, and free wine and canapes keeping our audience content as we ran slightly late. Unfortunately I can't offer more insight into this other than first night glitches, once the show was up it ran really smoothly.

To be honest the launch night has become a bit of a blur in the light of our first official day! Box Office opened at 12.30pm, children and parents gathered outside for Flyaway Katie and Insect Circus and She Said entertained with their album launch this afternoon. I'm writing this now, sitting in the dressing room area grabbing a moment of quiet before the cast of And A Devil May Drag You Under arrive for their last tech run through before the opening show tonight. Have been out flyering and ushering performers to and from Fringe City most of the day, enjoying the sunshine but quickly re-orientating myself into the fringe frame of mind which is long days and lots of hard work!

I thought it best to start with an introduction and a round up of the last two hectic days. From now on expect more tales from the shows, insights into running the venue and a new assault on Fringe City. So long for now, I'm needed again...
