Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at the Post Office in Station Road, Portslade at around 8.30am on Tuesday.
Two men with their faces covered entered the premises and told staff to get down on the floor.
The men grabbed an undisclosed sum of cash and left in a silver Subaru car.
The car, which is believed to have been stolen from Worthing, has been recovered from a small private car park in Fishersgate, off Laylands Road and behind Gardner Road.
Detective Sergeant Vanessa Britton from Brighton & Hove CID said: "I am particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have seen this vehicle being driven away from Station Road or anyone who saw it being parked a short time later."
Did you see the men get out of the car? Anyone with information is asked to contact Brighton & Hove CID on 0845 60 70 999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
