A disciplinary hearing into a police officer suspected of stealing wine from a supermarket has been adjourned.
Chief Inspector Sharon Rowe was arrested alongside Detective Chief Inspector Jim Torbet at Marks and Spencer in the Holmbush Centre, Shoreham, last September.
The pair were suspended from the force immediately pending an investigation into the theft of a bottle of wine from the store.
DCI Torbet hanged himself at his home in Peacehaven days before he was due before Sussex Police for questioning in October.
It was later revealed that the pair were believed to have had a seven-year affair.
A disciplinary hearing set to start yesterday in relation to Inspector Rowe's suspected theft of the wine has been adjourned until late July at the request of the Chief Inspector's advisors following legal and medical advice.
