Savall has been a passionate exponent of lesser-known music for more than three decades.
He has introduced the world to the work of relatively obscure composers such as Ortiz, Coperario and Guerrero and has popularised his wide repertoire across the globe.
This recital draws heavily from this work, celebrating the French bass viol school in the first part and Savall’s Catalan heritage in the second, showcasing works from across the Iberian peninsula, around the Mediterranean and east to the Orient.
