I BELIEVE Brighton and Hove City Council received a considerable grant to make it even more cycle friendly.
Could I seriously suggest that some of this money be used to encourage and publicise the purchase and use of bicycle bells as a health and safety measure?
I walk frequently on the seafront and the undercliff and have had, and seen, so many near misses from cyclists coming fast and silently from behind walkers.
A simple ding would alert pedestrians. I am not discouraging cycling as my family holds cycling records from as far back as the 1920s. I am too old to cycle any more but enjoy Brighton’s amenities on foot.
