Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Nun Priest’s Tale is brought to life in this bawdy bestial story by Live Wire Theatre Company.
Writer Dougie Blaxland has transformed the farmyard morality tale, featuring a cocky rooster and a lovelorn hen, into a romp full of animal lust, sexual jealousy and earthy humour, all told through rhyming couplets.
The production, which stars recent RADA graduates Tim Dewberry and Annie Hemingway, enjoyed a sell-out run at London’s (appropriately-named) Hen And Chickens just before Christmas.
- Starts 9.30pm, tickets £8/£6.
