YORKSHIRE 209 all out Sussex are into the last eight. Nash took two of the last three wickets to fall with Richard Pyrah bowled attempting to sweep and David Wainwright losing his off stump halfway through the 48th over. In between Deon Kruis was yorked by Arafat for 1. Nash finished with 4-40 - a one-day best - and Arafat 3-44. Great performance again by Sussex who could still win the group if they beat Surrey at The Oval tomorrow and Gloucestershire lose to Durham on Wednesday. I'm back from the Oval tomorrow. Join me then.

WICKET: Yorkshire 169-7 (40) Brophy holes out to long on where Gatting takes the catch and Brophy goes for 22. 100 needed off the last ten overs and Sussex are heading to the semi-finals.

WICKET: Yorkshire 161-6 (39) Powerplay called as soon as Rana arrived but he's just fallen leg before to Martin-Jenkins' fifth ball back playing a nothing shot really. Sussex in charge now. Brophy 17 and Pyrah 4.

WICKET: Yorkshire 142-5 (35.5) Vaughan's gone and Nash has his second wicket. He tried to smash it over wide mid on and instead picked out Goodwin who held the catch above his head at the second attempt. Vaughan made 66. Brophy is 5 and Rana Naved is the new batsman as Yorkshire call their powerplay with 128 needed off 14 overs.

WICKET: Yorkshire 127-4 (31.2) Two wickets in seven balls and now Lyth is out for one, cutting and getting a little tickle to Brown who grabs hold of the edge at the second attempt. Vaughan is 56 and the new batsman is Gerard Brophy.

WICKET: Yorkshire 124-3 (30.1) Yardy gets McGrath who gets a thin edge trying to cut and Brown takes a superb reflex catch. McGrath walked which was good to see. Vaughan the key now. He is 56 and Adam Lyth is the new batsman.

Yorkshire 117-2 (29) Yardy and Nash, who is bowling his third over, have both bowled maidens but both batsmen have now got to 50. Vaughan's came off 67 balls with one four and a swept six off Yardy. McGrath's just got to his by driving Nash past extra cover for four. He is 51 and Vaughan 53.

Yorkshire 88-2 (23) Close shave for McGrath there. Vaughan called for a third after driving to wide long off, Yardy picked up the return and threw down the stumps but umpire Duddleston at square leg ruled that he'd just made his ground. Must have been close though. Vaughan 38, McGrath 33 but they are not being allowed to get away.

Yorkshire 76-2 (20) Batsmen content to knock the ball into the gaps mainly for singles. Sussex have fielded well so far but they would love to seperate these two. Fancy Yardy might be the man. Vaughan 33, McGrath 29 and at this stage of their innings Sussex were 90-2. Yorkshire 60-2 (16) Double bowling change at the end of the powerplay as Beer and Yardy come into the attack with Beer operating down the slope. Five off his first over. Good to see Yardy coming on so early. He's an effective one-day day bowler but seemed reluctant to use himself in the FP games so far. Vaughan 25, McGrath 19.

Yorkshire 49-2 (12) As expected, Kirtley replaced Arafat at the sea end. McGrath had a let-off on 1 when a late cut only just eluded Hamilton-Brown at backward point. Both batsmen look settled now, this is anyone's game I'd say. Vaughan 21, McGrath 15.

WICKET: Yorkshire 22-2 (7) That's a big stick for Sussex. Rudolph had hit Arafat for successive boundaries through mid off and point earlier in the over but he's now prodded forward and lost his middle peg for 12. Vaughan 6, Anthony McGrath in with him and the first bowling change sees RMJ replace Kirtley at the CR end, presumably so Kirtley can bowl up the hill.

WICKET: Yorkshire 7-1 (4.2) Sayers gone for 4. Similar dismissal to Goodwin earlier as he chopped on looking to force through the off side. Rudolph 3, Vaughan in now to a good round of applause from the Sussex crowd.

Yorkshire 3-0 (2) Quite a bit of playing and missing so far, Arafat up the slope and Kirtley from the Cromwell Road end. Rudolph 2 and the left-hander Sayers 1.

SUSSEX 269-7 (50) Nice little cameo from Brown at the end included a pulled six off Pyrah over mid-wicket. he was 18* off just 11 balls with RMJ 19*. Good total, but will it be enough with Sussex one bowler down due to Nash's absence? Spinners could play a part. We'll find out in 45 minutes. Back then.

WICKET: 242-7 (48) 30 added in the first three overs of powerplay but now Yardy goes, bowled by Pyrah for 68 trying to force him off the back foot through point. He made 68. RMJ 10 and Ben Brown with him now. 269 here would be a testing target. WICKET: Sussex 210-6 (42.3) Brief cameo from Arafat is over as he drives a ball from Patterson to long on where Wainwright dives forward to cling on. Arafat had pulled the previous ball over mid-wicket for 6. So two of Sussex's hitters have gone just when they were warming up. Yardy on 48 and Robin Martin-Jenkins in with him.

WICKET: Sussex 186-5 (39) Brief innings by RHB ends when he drives to long off and is caught by Rudolph to give Wainwright his second wicket. He made 17. Yardy is 42 and Yasir Arafat has joined him. Lovely day now: sunny with little cloudy if a little breezy.

Sussex 174-4 (36.3) Hamilton-Brown breaks the boundary famine with a lovely square cut off Pyrah. Outfield a lot slower than last week. RHB lofted the next ball over mid on but it plugged in the turf and instead of four Sussex had to settle for 2. He is 10 and Yardy 36. Sussex still have their batting powerplay to call.

WICKET: Sussex 161-4 (34.3) That's a third successive batsman departing i9n high dudgeon. Goodwin tried to cut a ball too close to him and dragged it on to off stump. Gone for 29 which didn't contain a single boundary. Yardy 33 and Rory Hamilton-Brown is the new gladiator. The word on Luke Wright is that he's gone in the toe.

Sussex 140-3 (29) The batsmen are finding it hard to get Yorkshire's two spinners away, in fact we have only had four boundaries and neither Goodwin or Yardy have lodged one but Sussex are still scoring at four-and-a-half an over. Wonder if Yorks will regret not playing Adil Rashid? Remember Sussex have three slowies and that might be important later on. Goodwin 23, Yardy 19.

Sussex 112-3 (24.2) Tykes' capitano McGrath has seen enough from Wainwright to bring on a second spinner and it's Vaughan at the sea end bowling his off breaks. Goodwin 13, Yardy 5.

WICKET: Sussex 101-3 (22.2) Second ball from left-arm spinner David Wainwright and Nash is bowled playing off the back foot for 28. Goodwin 6, Yardy 1 and this is an important phase of the innings. Pitch does look a bit slow and Wainwright did turn a couple in that over, judging by the reaction of the close-in fielders.

WICKET: 90-2 (19.4) Joyce out for 47 and he'll be kicking himself after pulling a long hop from Pyrah to deep mid-wicket where David Wainwright takes an easy catch on the run. Joyce made 47. Nash is 24 and Murray Goodwin is with him now.

Sussex 75-1 (17) If Sussex win today they will definitely be in the last eight. If they finish level on points with Yorkshire then the places are decided in this order: most wins, head to head, net run rate. Joyce 43, Nash 15 here and Sussex building a decent platform.

Sussex 63-1 (14) Reprieve for Nash there. Chased one down the leg side from Steve Patterson, who has just replaced Rana, missed, overbalanced and just managed to get his foot behind the line before Brophy got the bails off. He is on 6 and Joyce is 37.

WICKET: Sussex 45-1 (10.5) Gatting goes for 11 lbw to Kruis. I thought the yorker was Ronnie's speciality but Kruis has just fired one in to Gatting's evident surprise and umpire Jesty got his finger up straight away. Joyce on 30 and the new batsman is Chris Nash. Still no word on why Wright's not playing.

Sussex 33-0 (9) Looks like another good pitch. Same one Gloucestershire got 306-9 on Friday, the third 300 plus total by the side batting first in successive games. Joyce 20, Gatting 9. Glad to hear the Yorkies calling Naved Ronnie as well.

Sussex 9-0 (2) We've had Deon Kruis and Rocket Ronnie Naved opening the bowling. Naved overstepped and Joyce hit the resulting free hit through mid-wicket for the first boundary. He is 8 and Gatting yet to score.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Hove for today's FP Trophy game against Yorkshire.

There has been one downpour here this morning but it is sunny and dry at the moment and we'll be getting underway on time at 10.45am.

Sussex have won the toss and have decided to bat. There is one change for the Sharks with Chris Nash replacing Luke Wright. We must assume that Wright is injured. Will try and find out.

Michael Vaughan has recovered a back problem which has kept him out for a week and returns in place of Andrew Gale. The former England captain will probably bat at No3.

Adil Rashid, who bowled so well here last September in the Championship game, has surprisingly lost his place and replaced by Adam Lyth and there is change behind the stumps for Yorkshire too with Gerard Brophy replacing the injured Simon Guy.

Sussex: Joyce, Gatting, Nash, Goodwin, Yardy, Hamilton-Brown, Martin-Jenkins, Arafat, Brown, Beer, Kirtley.

Yorkshire: Rudolph, Sayers, Vaughan, Rana Naved, McGrath, Lyth, Brophy, Pyrah, Wainwright, Kruis, Patterson.

Keep logging on for regular updates from the game. Remember if Sussex win they will secure their place in the quarter-finals which take place this Saturday.
