Africa Night Fever hits Hove tonight with an evening of Zimbabwean spiritual music and modern Reggae.
Zimbaremabwe are a band of musicians led by Linos Wengara Magaya, who create an energetic performance using a Mibra, traditional thumb piano, at the heart of their band.
Based in Brighton, Zimbaremabwe perform all over the country and this year have performed at the Shambala festival, One love festival and Ipswich Manor ballroom.
Tim Lloyd, a band member said: “We also play traditionally as an acoustic 3 piece, using the Mibra with African drumming, percussion and Shona vocals to create a spiritually uplifting musical performance”.
Zimbaremabwe will performing tonight (25 September 2009) at the Babylon Lounge on Kingsway. Doors opening 9pm. Entry £6. Other acts at tonight's gig include DJ Sijale and DJ 2Ray, with the best of African dance rhythms and modern reggae.
