At the height of their fame, The Beatles performed twice at the Hippodrome in Brighton as part of nationwide tours. Martin Creasy is the author of Legends On Tour – The Pop Package Tours Of The 1960s, which came out a couple of years ago.

He is now working on a book about the six UK Beatles’ tours between the beginning of 1963 and the end of 1965, researching every gig in every town. Creasy is interviewing musicians, journalists, staff from the venues and fans.

The Brighton gigs were on Sunday, June 2, 1963, when they played with Roy Orbison and Gerry And The Pacemakers, and Sunday, October 25, 1964, with Mary Wells.
