TOP businesses in Hove will receive awards next week for excellent customer service.

Customers voted for the shops and stores they believe looked after them the best.

Its is the third year the At Your Service Awards have been held for businesses in Hove.

Best female business personality was won by Karen Wells of Pets Holiday Home, Shirley Street, Hove.

Mark Necus, from Klodhoppers, Blatchington Road, scooped best male businesses personality for the second year running.

Fine Records in George Street and City Books in Western Road also won awards for the second year in a row.

Frinj Hairdressing was voted the best shop in Portland Road while The Chip Basket won the award for best shop in Church Road.

Canhams Butchers, Church Road, was voted best specialist business and Faigans, George Street, was the best cafe.

Best newcomer went to The Book Nook, First Avenue, and best lifestyle shop to Fine Records, George Street.

Sally Hair and Beauty, George Street, won the best national retailer award and Bali Brasserie, First Avenue, took the award for best restaurant.

Gavin Stewart, Hove town centre manager, said: “Hove's businesses have been offering consistently good service all year.

“Praise has been heaped on 'upbeat staff' from Frinj and the 'brilliant service' of Pets Holiday Home is hard to ignore.

“The Bali Brasserie is apparently a 'home from home' while customers of Sally Hair and Beauty say they always leave happy and laughing.

“People have nominated their favourite businesses because they return to them time and again for great service and consistently rising standards.”

Other businesses winners include Ingram and Schofield Opticians, Boundary Road; Boots, Church Road, and Vito's Delicatessen, Richardson Road.

The awards, sponsored by Hove Business Association and Hove Business Partnership with support from Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company will be presented in George Street on Friday at 10.30am.
