I agree with J Gledhill from Brighton about the King Alfred indoor bowling greens – they are a disgrace.

I belong to Lancing Bowling Club and we have members of our outdoor club who bowl at King Alfred during the winter months, as do many other local outdoor clubs Lancing Bowling Club play a few games indoors against the King Alfred and King Alfred Fellowship clubs during the winter months and sometimes we have had our games reduced in numbers or even cancelled because of leaks when it is raining.

As Mr Gledhill says, it seems older people are pushed aside for councils to help the younger generation.

We at the Lancing Bowling Club also have a problem with our club house which is in the centre of Lancing Manor Recreation Grounds.

We do not have a path across the uneven grassed area surrounding us and the Lancing Manor Cricket Club, who share the south side of our clubhouse. It is unsafe for players to carry or pull their equipment trolleys across and is made worse when the grass is wet.

We have asked Adur District Council to lay a path from the car park but they always say there is no money available, yet they seem to find the money for children’s playgrounds and skate boarding areas in the Adur district.
