I'm keeping this post short, as I don't want to bring anyone down. I'm trying to inspire and encourage here. Today's session, following an extended illness-related rest and a couple of not too encouraging shorter runs over the past couple of days, was all about getting back out of the 'what the hell do I think I'm doing' mindset and back into the 'I can totally do this' one.

No such luck. In fairness, the first half went OK, but from 9 miles onwards I was in absolute agony and pretty much in tears. And the batteries in my pedometer died on me, so I don't even know how long it took. I can be sure I did 12 miles, as I made it to half way and turned round before they gave up. And it was 2 hours-ish. That is all.

Maybe 3 days in a row after such a long break is why it was as nasty as it was. Whatever, I think I'll postpone my next session (a 1 hour plod) from tomorrow until Tuesday.
