Plans to locate a waste site in rural countryside has been described as a “recurring nightmare” by protesters.
East Sussex County Council has revived plans for a new tip between Uckfield and Hailsham, six years after they were originally rejected by residents.
People in Chiddingly, Laughton, East Hoathly and Ripe, who fought a four year campaign to prevent a waste site being built near their homes, are now preparing to fight similar proposals.
Halland parish councillor John Graham said the site would become a "visible scar on the countryside" from the day it opened.
Councillor Matthew Lock, East Sussex’s lead member for transport and environment, said the consultation period for the proposals had been extended to allow parish councils to give their thoughts.
