Following the recent correspondence from Mr Strudwick (Letters, January 1), I would like the opportunity to reply.
Firstly, he mentions that he has sent letters to a number of Conservative candidates, none of whom have replied.
I did not receive a letter from Mr Strudwick and had I done so, I would certainly have replied.
Secondly, just a few days after my selection as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Brighton Pavilion in November 2009, I signed up to Vote Cruelty Free.
To make matters clear, if elected as MP I will not vote for a repeal of the Hunting Act.
I think you will find that the Conservative candidates in both Brighton Kemptown and Hove have made similar commitments.
Charlotte Vere
Conservative parliamentary candidate for Brighton Pavilion
