I ALSO don’t agree with fox hunting, but David Gibbons is incorrect when he says foxes only kill to eat (Letters, December 28).
I used to live in Woodingdean and, believe me, it wouldn’t be the first time I had heard of foxes killing neighbours’ hens and leaving them lying around on the ground.
One of my neighbours had a dozen hens and a fox dug underneath the run to get at them.
Stephen Lockwood was right to accuse the foxes.
However, David Gibbons’ advice to make sure any hens Mr Lockwood keeps are given adequate security and protection was also sensible.
